History
DG FastChannel was created when DG Systems and FastChannel Networks merged in 2006. DG Systems was a pioneer in the use of satellite technology for advertising content distribution. When the Internet increased in popularity, DG Systems created a hybrid system that allowed for content delivery through either the satellite distribution system or through the Internet. This service ultimately changed the way that advertising campaigns were executed, reduced ad budgets and improved the workflow for broadcast professionals.
FastChannel Networks was the first company to use the Internet for delivery of content and took DG Systems’ concept to the next level by enhancing the Web-based interface for developing, managing and delivering advertising content. Using the Web, post houses, advertisers and agencies were able to easily collaborate, manage and distribute advertising content through an online application. This provided total transparency and immediate reporting of delivery status.
In 2008, DG FastChannel expanded its network reach with the acquisition of Enliven Marketing Technologies. Through the Unicast platform, the Company can now provide state-of-the-art rich media solutions for publishers, agencies and advertisers. In 1999, Unicast was the first rich media service provider to develop the technology to serve Superstitial ads. They were also first to serve Interactive Pre-Roll ads, 3D Interactive ads and developed and launched the first 3D Widget. Now, whether the medium is broadcast, HD video, radio, online, mobile or digital signage, the message contains content. DG FastChannel can now help the content providers create, manage, deliver, measure and optimize their content efficiently across all media.
DG FastChannel’s innovation continues with its satellite/terrestrial omnipresent network which enables streamlining the ad management and delivery process. The company digitally delivers more than seven million television and radio commercials each year for thousands of national advertisers and hundreds of advertising agencies.
